The SUNSUN CUV-655 is a 55 W UV-C clarifier for ponds and water features holding up to 65 000 L. It treats flowing water with ultraviolet radiation to help reduce floating algae, bacteria and other microorganisms without adding chemicals.

Works with your filtration system

The internal design directs water around the lamp to prolong contact with UV-C radiation. A stainless steel reflector returns UV-C rays to the treatment chamber. Dead microorganisms clump into larger particles for removal by a filter; use alongside a biological filter is recommended.

  • Pond size: up to 65 000 L; approximately 18 000 L is recommended for koi ponds, based on the manufacturer's guidance of approximately 3 W of UV-C power per 1 000 L.
  • Water flow: suitable for systems with a flow rate up to 8 000 L/h.
  • Connections: accepts 25, 32 and 38 mm hoses, with symmetrical ports usable as either inlet or outlet.
  • Installation space: 691 × 261 × 118 mm housing and a 5 m power cord.

Operating conditions

The ASA and ABS housing contains 2 ferrite magnets. The unit requires a 220–240 V / 50 Hz supply, has a maximum operating pressure of 1 bar and operates at temperatures from 4 to 35 °C.

Does the UV-C clarifier replace a filter?

It is designed to work within a filtration system. Following UV-C treatment, dead microorganisms form larger particles that a filter can remove. The manufacturer recommends using the clarifier alongside a biological filter.

How soon can the water look clearer?

With a correctly selected filtration system, the first visible results may appear in as little as 14 days. This is not a guaranteed treatment time.
