The ICY BOX IB-CR401-C3 is an external memory card reader for SD, microSD and CF cards. Its Multi-LUN function lets you read and write several cards simultaneously through a single USB-C connection.

Card formats and transfer speeds

The reader supports SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 cards, including UHS-II, as well as older SD formats. Its USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface supports a maximum data transfer rate of 5 Gbit/s. Listed card transfer speeds reach up to 300 MB/s for SD 4.0 UHS-II and up to 160 MB/s for CF-UDMA166.

Connection and operation

Built-in cable: connects directly to USB-C and also works with Thunderbolt 3 interfaces.
USB powered: no separate power supply is needed.
Plug & Play: works with Windows and macOS without driver installation.
