Choose countryAjax MotionCam is a black wireless indoor motion detector that sends a series of photos after a motion alarm, helping you check what triggered it. It requires Hub 2 or Hub 2 Plus to operate.
Motion detection and photo verification
The PIR sensor detects movement up to 12 m away. A photo is delivered within 9 seconds at default settings, while IR illumination enables pictures in the dark. Each series contains 1–5 images at a resolution of up to 640 × 480.
- Adjustable detection: choose from 3 sensitivity levels. SmartDetect provides pet immunity for animals up to 20 kg in weight and 50 cm in height.
- Separate radio protocols: Jeweller transmits alarms and Wings delivers images, with a communication range of up to 1 700 m in line of sight.
- Privacy: the camera activates only in response to a motion alarm and cannot take pictures on request. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and only authorised hub users can access the images.
Installation and power
Pair the detector in the Ajax app by scanning its QR code. The SmartBracket panel enables wall mounting without disassembling the detector; the recommended installation height is 2.4 m. Keep furniture, vases and glass objects out of its field of view. Remote configuration and testing are available through the app.
The 2 pre-installed CR123A batteries provide up to 4 years of operation, or up to 2.5 years with the entry delay setting enabled.

Can MotionCam operate without a hub?
No. This detector requires Hub 2 or Hub 2 Plus to operate.
