Power and charging
The grip accepts EN-EL 15, EN-EL 15A, EN-EL 15B and EN-EL 15C batteries and supports the EP-5B power adapter. With 2 batteries installed, you can replace one without turning off the camera. The battery nearest the compartment cover is discharged first. A USB-C port lets you charge batteries inside the grip, with LEDs indicating that charging has started. Charging 2 batteries takes approximately 5.5 hours.
Controls and mounting
- Camera controls: a two-stage shutter release, AF-ON button, joystick, 2 control dials and an assignable Fn button.
- Control lock: a physical switch disables grip controls to prevent accidental setting changes.
- Tripod mounting: a female 1/4" thread provides a tripod attachment point.
- Cover storage: a dedicated mounting point holds the camera’s original battery compartment cover.
