The Makita DRT52Z is an 18 V LXT cordless edge router for cutting grooves and decorative details in wood. It has a brushless motor, a plastic housing and a 6 mm collet. Battery and charger are sold separately.

Routing and controls

The router has an idle speed of 30 000 rpm and a plunge depth of 0–42 mm. An LED work light illuminates the working area, while soft start provides a smooth start.

Control: a lock/unlock button.
Protection: restart protection and XPT protection against dust and water.
Guidance: a guide rail is specified; a guide roller and rip fence are included.
