Choose countryFomos Foster is a white 8 L class B autoclave for sterilising medical and non-medical instruments. It accommodates wrapped and unwrapped, porous and solid instruments, including items with cavities and channels.
Programmes and settings
There are 5 sterilisation programmes and 2 test programmes: Vacuum Test and B&D-Helix. Universal cycles operate at 121 °C or 134 °C, while the fast class S cycles are intended for unwrapped instruments. A separate 134 °C prion programme is also available. Sterilisation and drying times can be adjusted. Preheating and temperature and pressure reduction must be added to the listed stage times.
Monitoring and maintenance
- LED control panel: select programmes and parameters and view temperature, pressure and time.
- Cycle records: the built-in thermal printer produces cycle records, while the USB port enables digital data storage.
- Water tanks: separate built-in tanks hold distilled or deionised water and used water, removing the need for an external waste-water container.
- Self-diagnosis and cleaning: error messages and a reminder after 300 cycles to run the 15–20-minute cleaning programme.
Contents and operation
Includes the autoclave, tray frame, 3 trays, tray removal handle, printer paper, waste-water drain hose, power cable, door seal, user manual and technical passport. The stainless steel chamber accommodates the frame with 3 trays.
Operation is restricted to qualified personnel with appropriate training. Read the user manual carefully before use.

Is the sterilisation time the full cycle duration?
No. Allow additional time for preheating and temperature and pressure reduction, as well as the stated sterilisation and drying stages.
